April BTS Releases – Runescape

Another month of updates is coming up for Runescape, so lets take a look what this month has to offer.

Gemstone Dragons
Another high level slayer monster. In theory this look like a good update, but I won’t be able to slay these monsters for a while. With the eventual release of 120 slayer, it is great they are getting starting on releasing monsters for the higher levels to fill in the content gap.

RuneScape Documentary
Sunday April 9th brings the release of the RuneScape Documentary: 15 Years of Adventure. I am looking forward to this premiere. I more than likely won’t be watching it live at 17:30 game time but I will be watching it and reviewing it later on. Having played RuneScape for over 10 year, I am curious to see how this documentary is displayed.

Achievements
They will be releasing the first portion of this update. Currently, I don’t use the current achievement system too much, but looking at the new design and features I will definitely be trying this out when it is released. I often find myself trying to figure out what to train so the recommended activities features is something that I will be trying out.

February in Runescape

Jagex released a list of upcoming updates for the month of February for Runescape.

6th – 15 Year Veteran’s Cape/Invention Tools/Valentine’s Event
Having played this game for over 10 years, I can’t wait for this cape to be released.

13th – Valentine’s Timed Event/Double XP Weekend/Game Jam Weekend
I am not a huge fan of the time events with cosmetic rewards, but I will be participating in this event just due to the weekend it is on. The weekend of double experience will be an eventful one, hopefully I can knock out a bunch of levels.

20th – Skillcape Perks
This update seems very interesting. Being able to harness extra ability while not wearing skill capes seems very beneficial.

27th – Mystery Quest
I don’t know much of the quest but the lore recently in the quests have been superb.

RuneScape 2016 in Review

Jagex released a video recapping their 2016 updates and had a player vote of the best updates for the year. These are my thoughts regarding the top 10 updates.

10. Telos
I am not much of a boss hunter, so I haven’t experienced this piece of content myself, but watching streamers attempt this boss was quite entertaining.

9. River of Bloods quest
I haven’t completed this quest yet but it looks like a great end for the Myreque quest series.

8. Beach Party
This was a great social event and a great way to reuse older content.

7. Children of Mah
I haven’t done much in terms of the Sliske quest series, but all the build up around Sliske’s Endgame has been good.

6. The Arc

5. 15th Anniversary Events
Having played this game for over 10 years, this update was a nice little update to celebrate the game. Can’t wait for year 20!

4. God Wars Dungeon 2
The original God Wars was great but unfortunately, I also haven’t tested out this dungeon. This looks like a much better version of the original dungeon.

3. Invention
While I haven’t trained this skill much, this was a great change to the game. Adding the ability to customize weapons and armor is great.

2. Skilling Pets
I haven’t been lucky enough to obtain one of these yet, but I like the look of these pets. My favorite one is Rue the Runecrafting pet.

1. NXT Client
This update made RuneScape look great again. I would consider this on the same level as the Runescape 3 update. This was a massive improvement in the graphics of the game.
