Editorial Calendar – Plugin Review

As stated in a previous post, I have a goal of posting almost every day on this blog. To help me achieve this goal I am using a WordPress plugin to help me aid in this along with my Google Calendar. The plugin I am using is Editorial Calendar. I am able to map out the plan for my blog days to weeks in advance. This plugin has even helped me plan some of my monthly posts I have coming.

Being able to visually see what is coming up for the week is helping me plan what to release for the blog.

Backups

With more and more data being stored on computers, it is a good idea to look into backup solutions for your important data. Just like people use safes to keep stuff safe at home or at work, use a backup to keep data alive.

I currently use Backblaze for my backup solution for my data. At 5 dollars a month, it is a small price to pay for piece of mind with my data.

For this website, I backup the database of WordPress fairly regularly, and then it is backed up my Backblaze.

I can’t speak for the recovery options on Backblaze because I have yet to need them. They have 3 different restoral options from downloading to sending the data via Fedex.

With companies having data breaches and loss, it is a good thing to keep your data in places you can trust it.

Top WiiU Games

With the Nintendo Switch incoming in the next month, I am going to rank my favorite WiiU games.

1. Mario Kart 8
This game was the reason I bought a WiiU. I loved playing the old maps redone along with their new maps they made for this game.
2. Splatoon
A paintball type shooter was a great change of pace.
3. New Super Mario Bros. U
An update on the side scrolling games.
4. Yoshi’s Woolly World
Yoshi is one of my favorite characters in the Mario series. Having his own side scrolling game was great.
5. Mario Party 10
A great party game to pass the time with friends.

Honorable Mentions
Pikmin 3 – Great series.
Super Smash Bros. for Wii U – This is a great game.
The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD – A remake of the original, so I don’t feel comfortable ranking it in this list.
Nintendo Land – A great series of mini-games.

Not ranked because I still need to play them.
Super Mario Maker
Captain Toad’s Treasure Tracker
Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze
Pokkén Tournament

I have heard nothing but good things about these games, I just haven’t been able to play them yet.

Please note I am only ranking the exclusives for this brand.

White Rabbit Project – Review

This was a series that was released on Netflix in December. It brings together 3 of the old Mythbusters into their own program where they investigate different topics via different experiments and rank everything based on 3 categories. Kari, Tory and Grant make a great team and it shows in their show.

The 10 episodes are easily binge-watchable in a day or two. I am already looking forward to the next season of this show.

3 of my favorites episodes were
Super Power Tech
They rank technology that resembles superheoes. Mind control was one of my favorites.

Tech We Love to Hate
They review tech that is annoying but benefical in our lives and how they can change it for the better.

Invented Before Its Time
They pull out the history books and review inventions that have been around in a similar form to what they are now.

WWE Network – Review

When the WWE Network was first released, the only thing I was looking forward to was the monthly pay-per-views that I would now be able to watch at an affordable rate. I have been a subscriber since the launch in February of 2014. At first, I didn’t think I would watch much original programming as the only wrestling content I thought I would consume would be the PPVs. But I have loved the following series.

Unfiltered with Renee Young
Renee Young is a great interviewer so her having her own show is great.

WWE 24
These documentaries have been amazing. The insiders look to WrestleManias have been amazing. I routinely go back and watch the Wrestlemania one to relive the moment. Follow your dreams.

Monday Night War
This was a documentary about the time that I got into wrestling. It was great listening to the story of the war.

Table for 3
Watching 3 superstars relive various stories over a meal. Most of the stories they share are great and entertaining. A candid look at their lives and careers is interesting.

Breaking Ground
A look at the performance center and the performers working there. The sacrifices these people are going through to follow their dreams is inspiring.

Ride Along
Watching superstars travel to the next show sharing stories. I like this for the same reasons as Table for 3.

Bring It To The Table
As of this post they have only made one in this series but I am hoping for more. They asked 2 of the best minds in the wrestling business today their opinion on various topics. Heyman and JBL are gold on the microphone.

Stone Cold Podcast
Listening to Stone Cold interview various superstars is entertaining as well.

There are many more originals and content on the Network to discover. The network has a one-month free trial and I encourage you to check it out. If you wait until January 28th, you watch NXT Takeover, Royal Rumble and Elimination Chamber. The next month you can get Fastlane, NXT Takeover and WrestleMania.
