EU LCS Prediction

With the European League Championship series getting ready to kick off the spring split tomorrow, I am going to give my predictions for how I think this split will turn out.

My top 5 teams are:

  • G2 Esports (Group A)
  • Splyce (Group B)
  • H2k-Gaming (Group B)
  • Fnatic (Group A)
  • Unicorns Of Love (Group B)

My bottom 5 teams are:

  • Misfits (Group A)
  • Team Vitality (Group B)
  • Origen (Group B)
  • Team ROCCAT (Group A)
  • Giants Gaming (Group A)

With the new format for the EU LCS, I believe Group B is the hardest and most competitive group out the two of them. Consisting of H2K, Splyce, Team Vitality, Unicorns of Love and Origen. The 3 teams that make it out of this group will be H2K, Splyce and Unicorns of Love. Team Vitality will make this group competitive and Origen just has too many unknowns currently, but I have faith in xPeke to pull in a good team.

Group A consists of G2 Esports, Fnatic, Misfits, Giants Gaming and Team ROCCAT. For sure G2 Esports and Fnatic will make it out of this group with Mistfits being the better of the teams in the group. G2 made no rosters changes in teams that went to Worlds last year, while Fnatic rebuilt their roster around Rekkles. Two different paths but still the top two teams of this group.

Runescape in 2017

Runescape is a game I have playing on and off for over 10 years. So I am looking forward to what is coming to the game this year.

Memorial to Guthix
This has been released for a couple days now and I have tried this content out. I haven’t maxed out my divination skill so this was a good time to test of this piece of content. I was able to fully complete the first portion of this. This is a good piece of content to pass time while training Divination.

Nex: Angel of Death
I am not a huge boss hunter so this update won’t affect me much currently. With each new boss released Jagex adds new mechanics to make each boss fight different. So I will be watching streamers

The Golden City of Menaphos
With the great work of Prifddinas, I can’t wait for Menaphos. Most great skilling areas and a different way to play the game.

Mining and Smithing rework
Even though I have 99 in both skills, I am looking forward to how this rework changes the game. In terms of the economny and combat setting wise.

Banking rework
The banking system hasn’t been updated in 2008 so I can’t wait for the new features that this rework is bringing. One thing I like that was annouced was the ability to access to Player-owned house storage straight from the bank. Also the added features of cleaning the bank are going to very helpful to me.

Can’t wait for the double experience weekend occuring February 17 through 20th.

Nintendo Switch – First Thoughts

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ntzz8O7SpWs

After watching the Nintendo Switch presentation, here are my first thoughts about it.

In less than 2 months time I will be able to play this new console is amazing. Some of the announced games look very promising as well. With a price tag of $299.99, it is an affordable option for what it is promising to do.

One thing that I am curious to learn more about is the paid online service they are bringing out. The free games and more online features, can’t really complain about anything there. The 2.5 to 6 hours battery life away from home is fine with me. I don’t see myself being away from power longer than that time frame. For portable gaming, I can continue to use my Ninitendo 3DS.

Games I am looking forward to:

  • Splatoon 2 – Summer release date

The original Splatoon game was a great game. I am looking forward to new gameplay for this series.

  • Super Mario Odyssey – Holiday 2017 release

Can’t really complain about a new Mario game.

  • Sonic Mania – Q2 2017

Sonic games are great.

  • Puyo Puyo Tetris

My family has a weird fasnication with Tetris. We used to play games against each other all the time on TetrisFriends.com. So I am curious about this game.

  • Super Bomberman-R

I have some good memories of playing some of the older Bomberman games, so this game looks very intriguing.

  • Mario Kart 8 Deluxe

I am a little conflicted on whether or not to buy this game. I have Mario Kart 8 and all the DLCs for the WiiU. Some of the new features look nice like the new characters and new maps, but I am unsure whether I want to rebuy the game just for that new stuff.

  • The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

This game visually looks amazing. Zelda games never disappoint either.

Paladins

For the past few days, the Hi-Rez Expo has been happening. One of the games featured is Paladins: Champions of the Realm. This game is similar to Overwatch but still is a fun game to play.

The following Reddit post by HiRezTodd, highlights the comparison of Overwatch to Paladins.

A Brief History of Paladins – as response to 'copy/clone' allegations

Currently, the Founder’s Pack is on sale for this game. This pack unlocks all the champions for the game, along with their standard voice packs, 10 Radiant Chests and you receive an exclusive Beta Skin and mount as well. The game is currently available through Steam or the official website.

I have played both Paladins and Overwatch and each of them has their pros and cons. But if you enjoy Overwatch and never heard of Paladins, give it a try it is free. If you enjoy it, go and purchase the Founders Pack to unlock all the champions.

Welcome to 2017! 2016 was a great year filed with many great adventures.

Within the last year I have invested in a gaming/video editing computer. I mainly used to be a console gamer via the Xbox systems but have started trying more PC games as well. Below is my current build.
